Zonal meeting of gardeners in the South of Russia

Teachers of the department of production and processing of food products from plant materials of Stavropol State Agrarian University took part in the zone meeting of gardeners in southern Russia. The meeting was organized by the leadership of the Gardening Agricultural Consumer Cooperative “Gardens of Stavropol” in the territory of the largest horticultural enterprise of the Stavropol Territory LLC “Interinvest”, Georgievsky district. At the practical part of the meeting, the current state of fruit stands in the winter period of the current year, as well as the features of winter pruning of pome crops were discussed.

Experts from Poland were invited to the meeting: Monika Benjaz - professor at the University of Krakow, as well as Grzegorz Tsinslinsky - professor, scientific consultant at the international company InterMag.

Professor M. Benyazh spoke to the production workers with a workshop on winter pruning of seed crops. Then, at the theoretical part of the seminar, Professor G. Tsinslinsky made a presentation to the audience on the topic: “Features of the mineral nutrition of apple trees in intensive-type gardens”. He gave information about the importance of a scientifically-based nutrition system for fruit crops, after which he presented the new fertilizers and growth stimulants produced by InterMag.

After the invited guests, the director of the St. George Gardening Experiment Station V.G. Ermolenko with information about new varieties of apple and pear, bred in the Stavropol Territory.
