13.12.2019

In the framework of cooperation with enterprises of the region, meetings of future agronomists with practitioners from various sectors of the agro-industrial complex are regularly held.

The lecture was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko.

Acting director of the FSBI GTSAS "Stavropol" Vasily Pavlovich Egorov, held an open lecture for students-agronomists and spoke about the work of the agricultural chemical service in the field of precision farming.

The lecturer said that the agrochemical examination of soils is carried out with the aim of their agrochemical assessment and monitoring of changes in fertility. To determine the actual fertility, the employees of the center of the agrochemical service conduct regular soil surveys. Recent advances in science and technology, especially in the field of information technology, make it possible to reach a qualitatively new level of soil survey and the provision of precision farming technology. The specificity of such surveys generally comes down to the use of modern equipment for soil sampling and its coordinate attachment. The use of modern technologies allows us to obtain more accurate distribution schemes of agrochemical indicators within each field, which allows us to study the variability of soil and vegetation cover, as well as the final crop within specific field.

The topic of precision farming aroused genuine interest of students, especially those who are expected to practice in the spring.
