In 1984, Professor Nikitin V.Ya. was appointed rector of Stavropol Agricultural Institute. Under his leadership, in 1993 the institute was transformed into Stavropol State Agricultural Academy, which he headed for almost 15 years, until March 1999, and then became its president.
Viktor Yakovlevich created his own, Stavropol, school of veterinary obstetricians. His students successfully solve the problems associated with the reproduction of farm animals.
The results of these studies are reflected in monographs and numerous articles. He has published over 250 scientific papers and articles. Viktor Yakovlevich was not only a talented scientist, but also an excellent mentor.
In 1998, by a resolution of Stavropol City Duma, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Stavropol.
Viktor Yakovlevich devoted his life to teaching and research. The invaluable knowledge transferred by him to young scientists will forever leave a mark in the history of agriculture. His work received recognition, entered the textbooks - he left a huge scientific legacy.
