17.12.2019

The Regional Council of Veterans and the Council of Veterans of SSAU held a courage lesson for students of all faculties of the agrarian university, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. WWII veterans and university staff spoke with youth.

The event was organized by:

· Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and History, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of SSAU Nikolai Gavrilovich Guzynin

· Deputy Dean for educational work of the Accounting and Finance Department Victoria Samvelovna Germanova

· Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking Tamara Vasilievna Skrebtsova

The event was attended by guests of honor:

· Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans Aleksei Alekseevich Gonochenko,

· Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Leninsky district of the city of Stavropol Evgeny Ivanovich Sereda,

World War II veterans, colonel in reserve - tankman Pavel Sergeevich Zakharchenko and reserve colonel Alexander Sergeyevich Ponomarenko.

Alexei Alekseevich Gonochenko addressed the students with a welcoming speech. After the speech, he handed books to the university’s library dedicated to the old inhabitants of Poland - heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

The meeting was attended by nearly 300 students. Their attention was focused on the guests and their stories.

At the meeting, words were spoken about the heroic pages of the Great Patriotic War, about the strength of spirit and unity of the Soviet people, who fought for their lives, freedom and sovereignty, about the tireless workers of the rear who forged weapons of war to achieve victory. The thread of all the speeches was the idea of the incredible price that the Great Victory was achieved, and hence the sacred duty of all post-war generations, including the current young generation, to remember, honor and be worthy of this heroic feat of the Soviet people. At the study table, in classrooms and scientific laboratories, students must prove how worthy of the heroic deed of their great-grandfathers and whether they are ready to serve their Fatherland faithfully.

First-year student of FSPE Roman Kozyr addressed war veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Poetic words from Requiem by R. Rozhdestvensky, read with great emotional enthusiasm by 1st year student Lida Mukhina, sounded sincerely and pathetically in the lesson. The head of the student center for civic-patriotic education "Patriot" of SSAU Valeria Khvorost made a patriotic "Appeal" from students of SSAU to students and schoolchildren of Stavropol Territory. The essence of the “Appeal” is the motto of this patriotic action, which will take place in March and April 2020 throughout the territory of Stavropol Territory, “To every Stavropol resident who died in the Great Patriotic War, every student and schoolchild should plant a tree.” This “Appeal” was unanimously accepted by all participants in the “Courage Lesson”.
