In 2020, for the first time, the All-Russian Financial Literacy Championship is held, with 8,000 schoolchildren participating. The championship is held within the framework of the Project of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development "Assistance to the improvement of financial literacy of the population and development of financial education in the Russian Federation".
Qualifying rounds of the Financial Literacy Championship were held in the Stavropol Territory. Professionals in the financial sphere, among them, acted as a fair competent jury:
- Nadezhda Gerasimenko, regional coordinator of the financial literacy programme,
- Vitaly Koshelev, leading economist of the payment systems and calculations department,
- Head of the Department of "Financial Management and Banking", Ph.D., Professor Yulia Sklyarova.
In total, more than 450 school teams from 15 regions participating in the championship will take part in the competitions of the main stage of the Championship: Altai Territory, Arkhangelsk, Volgograd, Voronezh and Kemerovo Regions, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Territory, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk and Penza Regions, Republic of Kalmykia, St. Petersburg, Saratov Region, Stavropol Territory and Tomsk Region.
