An interactive lecture entitled “Prevention of extremism and terrorism among youth” was held at the Stavropol State Agrarian University. The staff of the Department of Philosophy and History, the head of the department for educational work and social issues Tatyana Ivanovna Gunko and the students gathered to discuss issues related to the impact of extremism and terrorism on society.
Today, the prevention of extremism and terrorism among young people has become one of the priority tasks in the educational sphere and society. After all, the terrorist threat is present all over the world. Therefore, the meeting was especially relevant.
The university pays great attention to the prevention of extremism and terrorism among students. This is the formation of a legal culture, conducting conversations with students about their respect for all university students, regardless of social, national and religious affiliation
As part of the lecture for students, the social video against terrorism “Recruitment. Watch out for ZOMBIES ” was presented. The participants of the event considered the most pressing issues to date about the factors contributing to the growth of extremist sentiments among young people in connection with the events taking place in Syria, Libya, Algeria, Pakistan, Yemen with the participation of international terrorist organizations and groups; the need to monitor Internet sites containing extremist materials; on preventive measures that must be carried out at the faculties of SSAU in order to protect young people from the influence of extremist movements.
The ongoing preventive measure was aimed at increasing the level of protection of youth, their support, fostering feelings of mutual respect, civic solidarity, tolerance, which contribute to counteracting any manifestations of terrorism and extremism in the youth environment.
