Future agronomists took part in the regional seminar on fruit growing

Students of Stavropol SAU took part in the regional seminar “Technologies for cultivating a super-intensive fruit orchard”, organized by GKU “Stavropolvinogradplodoprom” on the basis of LLC Krayservis of the Izobilnensky city district. The seminar was organized for managers and agronomists of fruit-growing farms in the Stavropol Territory and adjacent territories, as well as for beginning farmers.

The audience was performed by the chief agronomist of LLC Niva-S Olga Matushkina, who demonstrated the main features of winter pruning of an intensive trellis garden.

Then Olga Alekseyevna told the audience about the features of the intensive-type fruit garden nutrition system, with compacted-row arrangement of trees. The practical part of the seminar was completed by a presentation by the leading specialist of Summit Agro, V. I. Barabanov. He gave information about the features of constructing a system for protecting fruit trees from pests and diseases in an intensive garden.

Students with interest familiarized themselves with the economy, modern agricultural machinery, as well as advanced technological methods used in intensive-type gardens. The experience gained by students will help them in further practical work.
