In the Boiling Point of the STAU the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "The place and role of the Soviet Union in the defeat of fascist Germany and its allies during the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945: a new view and reflection" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held. The scientific forum was organized on the initiative of the staff of the Department of Philosophy and History.
The conference was opened by the acting rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor Ivan Atanov. He noted that the conference theme is important in many respects - both from the point of view of studying the events of those years, and transferring scientific knowledge about the Great Patriotic War to the younger generation, and preserving the people's historical feat in the Great Victory.
Scientific presentations were made in the plenary:
- Alexei Gonochenko - Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans of the Stavropol Territory, Hero of Labor of Stavropol Territory, Honorary Citizen of the Stavropol Territory, Chairman of the Council of Elders under the Chairman of the Duma of the Stavropol Territory, Honorary Professor of the St. Petersburg State Aviation University;
- Nikolai Sudavtsov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Russian History at the Humanitarian Institute of North Caucasian Federal University in Stavropol;
-Yevgeny Krinko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Chief Researcher of the Southern Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rostov-on-Don,
-Sergei Yanush - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Philosophy and History of Stavropol State Agrarian University in Stavropol.
The conference worked in three thematic sections dedicated to the decisive contribution of the Red Army to the Victory of the anti-Hitler coalition, the heroism of the Soviet people and the view of modern student youth on the history of the Great Patriotic War.
Active participation in the work of the sections took place:
- Tamara Bulygina - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Russian History at the Humanitarian Institute of North Caucasian Federal University in Stavropol,
- Svetlana Khubulova - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Contemporary Russian History at Khetagurov North Ossetian State University. Vladikavkaz,
- Sergey Linets - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Historical and Social Philosophical Disciplines, Oriental Studies and Theology at Pyatigorsk State University.
Summing up the results of the conference, the Head of the Department of Philosophy and History, Doctor of Historical Sciences Evgeny Tufanov thanked all participants for their active work.
"2020 is an anniversary year, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. At the cost of millions of lives our grandfathers and great grandfathers stopped fascism, gave peace and freedom to future generations. Today, the most important task is to preserve the historical memory of the heroic feat of the Soviet people. And I take this opportunity to congratulate you, dear students, teachers, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, friends, on the greatest holiday - Victory Day! - E.V. Tufanov noted.
At the end of the conference, a collection of reports will be issued, which will include 160 student articles.
