Conference "Application of modern resource-saving innovative technologies in the agricultural sector"

At the faculties of agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture, a plenary meeting of the 85th scientific-practical conference "Application of modern resource-saving innovative technologies in the agricultural sector" was held.

The meeting was opened by Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture. He introduced the guests and noted that in 2020 the conference was held for the 85th time and was timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of Stavropol State Agrarian University. Alexander Nikolayevich also noted that this year, given the current epidemiological situation in order to provide measures to counteract the spread of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19, the conference is being held in a new online format for us. However, we were able to gather a solid audience, including our leading strategic partners and employers.

Welcoming remarks were made by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Work of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Alexei Nikolaevich Bobryshev. He noted that the development of faculties is of great strategic importance and holding a conference is important for presenting the results of scientific activities of scientists. Teachers in their daily activities strive to create the conditions for the development of a diverse personality of students who achieve high results in the development of various sciences and the acquisition of practical skills. It is the practical training of modern specialists that is the key to their successful employment, and research activity is the most important factor in improving vocational training.

Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zelenko, the Head of the Department of Land Reclamation and Vegetable Production of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, presented a report entitled “State of Reclamation in the Stavropol Region”. It is noted that a lot of attention is paid to the development of the land reclamation complex, since it is very important and affects the interests of the regional ministry of agriculture and local agricultural producers. Currently, 23 projects are being implemented in the Stavropol Territory under the program "Development of Land Reclamation". In addition, the current problems of water consumption in the Stavropol Territory and the necessary measures for the sustainable development of land reclamation and new growth points were identified.

The head of the FSBI Rosselkhoztsentr branch in the Stavropol Territory, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Andrei Yurievich Oleinikov made a presentation “Locust pest control is a paramount task”. Currently, serious climatic changes are taking place in the Stavropol Territory. Against the background of a lack of moisture, the danger of developing locusts remains. Andrei Yurievich presented data on monitoring the development and harmfulness of pests, as well as measures to combat them.

Vasily Pavlovich Egorov, Director of the FSBI State Center for Agrochemical Service "Stavropolsky" presented data on "Monitoring of soil fertility and measures for its restoration." Vasily Pavlovich spoke about the main activities of the Agrochemical Center and about cooperation with the Agrarian University. Every year, 8-10 students of the Faculty of Agrobiology acquire practical skills here.

Elena Alekseevna Batagova, the head of the branch of the FSBI Gossortkomissiya in the Stavropol Territory, spoke about the variety testing as the final stage of the selection process. And also introduced new promising varieties of winter wheat and barley (in the agroclimatic zones of the Stavropol Territory).

Andrei Vladimirovich Katenev, Head of the Department for the Protection and Functioning of Specially Protected Natural Areas of the Stavropol Territory, State Treasury Institution “Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Territories of the Stavropol Territory” made a presentation “Using the potential of regional specially protected natural territories in environmental education”.

The report of the Deputy Director of the state treasury institution "Stavropolvinogradplodoprom" Alexei Sergeyevich Lysenko caused the greatest interest. Aleksey Sergeevich presented “The State and Development of the Fruit and Viticulture Sub-Branch of the Stavropol Territory”, provided statistical information on industry trends, presented the State Support Program for the development of horticulture and the laying of super-intensive gardens in personal subsidiary plots.

Vasily Khrapach, Deputy Director for Research, Stavropol Botanical Garden named after V.V. Skripchinsky - a branch of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution "North Caucasian Federal Scientific Agricultural Center", made a presentation "Introduction and selection work in the Stavropol Botanical Garden." Khrapach V.V. made a historical excursion during the creation of the botanical garden and showed the current state of the territory. At the end of his speech, Vasily Vasilyevich presented the main directions and prospects of scientific work in the botanical garden of the city of Stavropol.

The conference continued with presentations by students and graduate students, as well as faculty members, who presented the results of their research. Based on the conference materials, it is planned to publish two collections of articles indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index.
