Stavropol State Agrarian University has summed up the VI All-Russian competition of scientific works for the best author’s research in the field of financial market “Financial Market Instruments for the Agricultural Sector of the Region”. The research activities of students are an integral part of the development of the basic professional educational program of higher education. The participation of students in applied research allows to acquire the skills of independent work, its presentation for discussion and practical application.
The competition was organized by:
- Department of “Finance, credit and insurance business” of FSBEI HE Stavropol State Agrarian University
- FSBEI of HE Saratov State Agrarian University named after N.I. Vavilov
- With the assistance of BCS Premier LLC in the city of Stavropol and a branch of PJSC IC Rosgosstrakh in the Stavropol Territory.
The competition of students’ research projects is being held for the sixth time and is aimed at promoting the intensification of students’ research activities, substantiating the directions of sustainable financial development of agricultural enterprises, increasing students’ interest in their chosen profession. The competition was first held in April 2015, during its existence more than 180 students from 15 regions of Russia took part in the competition.
The competition was held in order to improve the educational process, increase the level of professional training of future specialists, develop the creative abilities of students and their independent research work skills.
In 2020, students and undergraduates from 8 Russian universities: Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Volgograd State Agrarian University, Vologda State Dairy and Economics Academy named after N.V. Vereshchagin, Kuban State Agrarian University named after I.T. Trubilin, Oryol State Agrarian University named after N.V. Parakhin, Saratov State Agrarian University named after N.A Vavilov, Stavropol State Agrarian University, North Caucasus Federal University, Bashkir State University took part in the competition.
Students submitted competitive works in one of the following nominations:
- The financial market and its participants;
- The credit market and its segments;
- The insurance market;
- Agricultural insurance;
- Stocks and bonds market;
- The market of precious metals;
- Alternative sources of financing;
- Innovations in the financial market;
- Hedging risks.
Competitive work was evaluated by a highly professional jury, including leading scientists and specialists of the regions of Russia, including:
Agibalov Alexander Vladimirovich - Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Head of the Department of Finance and Credit, Voronezh State Agrarian University named after Emperor Peter I, Ph.D., Asociate Professor;
Alaykina Lyubov Nikolaevna - Ph.D in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting, Analysis and Audit, Saratov State Agrarian University named after N.I. Vavilov;
Butaly Lyubov Mikhailovna - Director of FINAM-Stavropol LLC;
Grigoryev Stanislav Vladimirovich - Head of BROKERCREDITSERVICE LLC, additional office “Stavropolsky”;
Ovcharenko Anna Petrovna - HR Business partner of the Human Resources Department of the Rosgosstrakh IC branch in the Stavropol Territory.
As a result, members of the expert commission decided to allocate prizes as follows.

The results of students’ research will be presented at the VII All-Russian student annual scientific and practical conference of young scientists “Development of financial science: discussion questions of modern research” in June 2020.
