SSAU employees took part in the regional meeting

The meeting on the topic “On the progress of harvesting in the Stavropol Territory in 2020” was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, chaired by the region’s governor Vladimir Vladimirov. Representatives of the leading agricultural enterprises of Stavropol, as well as professors of the Stavropol State Agrarian University took part in the work.

The Stavropol SAU at the meeting was represented by:

• Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yesaulko A.N.

• and the deputy Dean for scientific work, candidate of agricultural sciences Aisanov T.S.

In order to get acquainted with the real situation of the harvesting company in 2020, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov together with the team of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Territory, headed by Minister Sitnikov V.N. circled the fields. After that, the governor held a meeting in video conferencing mode with the participation of the heads of all structural units of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, as well as the heads of districts and municipal districts of the region.

Minister of Agriculture Sitnikov V.N. made a report “On the course of harvesting and the implementation of related work in 2020”, in which he highlighted the areas of winter grain harvested to date, average yield and planned gross harvest. As noted by Vladimir Nikolaevich, in connection with the difficult weather conditions of the current year, a significant crop shortage is noted in the region, which will negatively affect consumers as well as producers themselves. The Minister turned to the Governor of the Territory, Vladimirov V. V. with a request to prolong the action of anti-crisis programs for financial support of farmers.

The meeting continued with speeches Kosov P.N., General Director of Rosagroleasing Joint-Stock Company and Maltsev V.V., General Director of Rostselmash, who spoke about measures to support producers in the current difficult conditions of this agricultural year.

Then the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management in the Stavropol Territory Kiy V.V. made a speech, who provided information on the state of fire safety during the harvesting in the Stavropol Territory in 2020.

Harvesting grain crops is in full swing, but during this period there is a significant need for rainfall for row crops: corn, sunflower, sugar beets, etc. A report on the weather forecast for July 2020 was made by N.A. Kravchenko, Head of the Stavropol Center for hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring Federal State Institution “North Caucasian Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring”.

At the end of the meeting, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimirov V.V. He called on all relevant authorities to provide all possible assistance and support to the farmers of the region, while noting that the fastest and highest-quality harvesting will help minimize crop losses and its quality.
