Alternative power sources are studied at the Faculty of Electricity. On the initiative of the dean’s office and students, solar panels were purchased and installed. This will significantly reduce the load on urban electrical networks.
On the roof of the new educational and laboratory building, 18 solar panels of 250 watts each were installed, with a rated current of about 5 amperes.
For a simple consumer, electricians explain that this power can power about 50 incandescent bulbs, or up to 10 thousand LED lamps.
The work is carried out not only by electricians, but also by students from the “Trowel” unit.
Stavropol State Agar University is not just a leader in agricultural education, but is also included in the TOP of the World ranking of environmental friendliness of universities *. The first solar panel appeared on the territory of the university about 10 years ago. Today, the training process for future electrical engineers is directly related to alternative power sources.
Solar panels are not only an alternative power supply for the new building of the Agrarian University, but also a base for the practice of all students of the power engineering faculty.
