The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting on gypsum plastering in the Stavropol Region. The working group included members of the faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.
Vyacheslav Dridiger, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Region, opened the meeting.
Vyacheslav Viktorovich said that the need for chemical melioration (plastering) is needed on an area of 250,000 hectares or about 20,000 hectares per year. The closest producers for the region are OAO "Hydrometallurgical Plant" of Lermontov and OOO "EuroChem-Belorechensk Mineral Fertilizers" Krasnodar Region.
The working group for resolving gypsum plastering issues in the Stavropol Krai includes: Alexander Esaulko, Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honoured Worker of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Valery Tskhovrebov Professor, Head of the Department of Soil Science named after V.I. Tulpanova and Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Plant Physiology Evgeny Golosnoy.
During the meeting it was agreed that, first of all, it is necessary to ensure that production experiments on phosphogypsum application are conducted and completed. To obtain scientific support for these experiments and to minimise the financial burden on business entities.
