Meeting of students with representatives of medical institutions

During the first month of the new academic year, the faculties of agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture held meetings with representatives of various medical institutions, which will allow freshmen to better adapt to the urban youth environment.

The lecture on "Introduction to the specialty", held for novice students of the faculties of agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture, was opened by the dean, professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko.

The guests were Olga Ivanovna Alekseeva, head of the prevention department of the Stavropol Regional AIDS Center, and Oksana Nikolaevna Abolina, a psychologist at the Stavropol Regional AIDS Center.

Currently, all students are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 in the province. O. I. Alekseeva began her speech with the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection in the regional center. Again and again, she drew the attention of everyone present to the fact that the virus that causes the disease COVID-19 is transmitted mainly through droplets released from the respiratory tract of an infected person when coughing, sneezing or breathing. Due to their mass, these droplets do not stay in the air for a long time and quickly settle on the floor and other surfaces. You can become infected with the virus by airborne droplets, being in close proximity to a person with COVID-19, or as a result of the transfer of the virus by hand from an infected surface to the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose or mouth. In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it.”

Olga Ivanovna wished everyone good health and urged first-year students to take care of themselves, not to neglect elementary means of protection.

During the meeting, the psychologist of the Stavropol Regional AIDS Center O.N. Abolina said that for more than thirty years the world has been living with the problem of the fatal AIDS disease. This disease is still incurable, difficult to diagnose and insidious. And there are so many myths around HIV and AIDS! Conducted an explanatory conversation among freshmen on how to protect themselves from this terrible disease and where to turn for help.

The information received from students caused a large number of questions to representatives of medical institutions, to which they received qualified answers.
