23.11.2020

As part of the Companion-Online 2020 Internet Forum, a round table was held on higher veterinary education in Russia. Current issues and problems in the educational process were on the agenda. Many Russian cities, leading scientists and practicing veterinarians have made contact with Moscow.

The round table was attended:

- Sergei Sereda, President of the Association of Veterinary Practitioners,

- Alexey Malovatsky, Vice-President of Sistema,

- Olga Alfimova, specialist in educational programmes at Medinvestgroup Group,

- Evgeny Korniushenkov, chief veterinary surgeon at the Biocontrol Veterinary Clinic,

- Ilya Vilkovysky, owner of the Medved veterinary clinic network.

The organisers tentatively asked representatives of some higher education institutions to answer three questions: what is the main problem of veterinary education today, what will be the profession of a veterinarian in 20 years and what should be done today so that in 20 years our profession will flourish.

During the round table, views were expressed by Professor Alexei Ermakov, Dean of the Veterinary Faculty of the Don State Technical University, Professor Rustam Ravilov, Rector of Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, and Valentin Skripkin, Dean of the Veterinary Faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University.
