For the tenth time, Bayer has held the BayStudy competition aimed at supporting talented young people in agronomic universities in Russia. The winners defended their scientific and practical projects in front of experts as part of a talk show that brought together over 20 regions of the country online. In 2020, 14 students from the faculties of agrobiology and land resources, ecology and landscape architecture took part in the project, which is designed to support talented students and postgraduates who intend to grow and develop professionally in the field of plant protection, as well as those who want to gain practical skills and knowledge. Students Alexander Portnov, Ivan Vdovydchenko, Nikita Aguzov and Arina Kotova took part in the project under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculties of A&P and E&LA, Professor of the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Protection Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko. And also under the guidance of associate professors of the Department of General Agriculture, Plant Growing, Breeding and Seed Production named after V. Professor F.I. Bobrysheva Elena Borisovna Drepy and Olga Ivanovna Vlasova was attended by Tatyana Berezueva and Sergey Golubovsky. From the teachers of the Department of Chemistry and Plant Protection, Lyubov Vasilievna Maznitsyna, Anna Petrovna Shutko, Lyudmila Vasilievna Tuturzhans, Natalia Nikolaevna Glazunova and Lyudmila Alekseevna Mikhno, students Anastasia Vasina, Vladislav Lisitskaya, Anna Khomutova, Lyubov Lagmuta sent their works to the competition. Olga Loskutova and Svetlana Davydova prepared work for the project under the guidance of Timur Soltanovich Aisanov, a teacher of the Department of Production and Processing of Food Products from Plant Raw Materials. 19 people (bachelors, undergraduates and postgraduates) became the winners of the anniversary competition. All of them will receive a Bayer scholarship during the current academic year. The winner in the project from the Agrarian University was a 2-year undergraduate student under the program "Agrochemical foundations and management of plant nutrition and soil fertility" - Arina Kotova. The theme of the competition work: "Evaluation of the effectiveness of new forms of fertilizers and nutrition systems in the cultivation of winter wheat in the conditions of the application of NO-TILL technology in the Stavropol Territory." This topic examines the effectiveness of the NO-TILL technology in the cultivation of winter wheat. The first results in the direction showed that when using this technology, the yield of agricultural. of crops does not decrease, and in some soil-climatic zones it increases significantly, and the cost of production is significantly reduced, compared to the traditional tillage for the zone and culture. “I decided to enter an agricultural university, because in the Stavropol Territory, the agricultural industry is in great demand. On the whole, I am pleased to know that I will work for the benefit of the country's agro-industrial complex! I took part in the BayStudy competition for the first time, I had gained experience earlier, I was waiting for the opportunity to take part. I chose my topic of work because in modern conditions winter wheat has a leading place among grain crops, its crops occupy 15.8 million hectares, so the study was undoubtedly devoted to the study of the most relevant culture today. Practical research was carried out between 2018 and 2019. Any scientific work is a big job. The main thing is to do everything according to the methodology, to be able to analyze the obtained indicators and find the reason for this dynamics ”- said the winner of the competition, master student of StSAU Arina Kotova. Traditionally, in 2020, branded IT audiences will appear in two universities, whose students have been actively participating and winning the competition for several years. A new computer class from Bayer is already operating on the basis of the Stavropol State Agrarian University and will open its doors to students in the near future!
