This year's theme of the Forum is "Biosafety problems in the modern world: challenges, status, forecasts and prospects". The Forum was supported by the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the National Guild of Good Manufacturers and Importers. Department of Medical Sciences and Agricultural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian and Italian National Committees of the International Scientific Radio Union (URSI), as well as the International Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CIMER) of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the company "Ewa-Bis" (Warsaw, Poland) took active part in the organization and conduct of the Forum.
This year's Forum discussed the following fundamental problems of medical and agricultural sciences:
- Biotechnologies in medicine and healthcare,
- Biotechnology in the creation of innovative antitumour agents,
- Preventive medicine: innovative approaches to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of socially significant diseases,
- Modern agrobiotechnology to improve the quality and safety of agricultural products,
- Solving the problems of nutrciology and nutrition using FOODOMICS technologies,
- Modern technologies for functional and specialised food products,
- Modern environmental safety technologies.
Contests of innovative developments in biotechnology were held as part of the Forum. The exhibition presented the achievements of biotechnologies for many spheres of life of the population, including the scientific developments of scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, 11 developments.
The exhibition was attended by students of secondary and higher schools, research and educational institutions, as well as teachers and scientists involved in this field. The best achievements in scientific and educational activities were demonstrated.
As a result of the competitions, the winners were awarded special prizes, medals and diplomas.
Out of 11 scientific developments, 11 scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University received gold medals.
