A meeting of the students of Agronomy direction of study with representatives of Irrico group companies

Irrico Group Companies is an old friend and strategic partner of Stavropol State Agrarian University. The company uses modern technologies of precision farming in plant growing and vegetable growing. It is provided with modern technology and latest equipment, has an innovative logistics center. Irrico Agricultural Holding employs over 350 people (more than 450 people per season). Among them are many graduates of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

Grigory Nikolaevich Smetanin, General Director of three organizations, OOO Agricultural Holding Agroinvest, OOO JV Dzhalga, OOO Irrico-Holding, and Tatyana Nikolaevna Ivanova, the head of the HR department of Agricultural Holding Irrico, came to the meeting with the students.

Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko, presenting the guests, noted the vectors of interaction between Agricultural Holding and the Faculty: scientific research, practice-oriented training of students, a scholarship program.

Grigory Nikolaevich Smetanin told the students that Irrico Group Companies is an agricultural enterprise in the Stavropol Territory with the largest irrigated areas in Russia. The total arable land area of ​​the agricultural holding in the region is 29 thousand hectares, incl. under irrigation - 6.5 thousand hectares (5.1 thousand hectares in OOO Agricultural enterprise “Agroinvest” and 1.4 thousand hectares in OOO JV “Dzhalga”).

Agricultural Holding grows: wheat, corn, mustard, sunflower, barley, peas, potatoes, beets, chickpeas and other crops. The produced potatoes are processed at the PepsiCo plant to make Lay’s brand chips. The grown corn is used for conservation by Bonduelle and H.J. Heinz.

After an interesting presentation about the company, Tatyana Nikolaevna Ivanova left a questionnaire for students wishing to undergo industrial practice in Agricultural Holding. Based on the results of a questionnaire and an interview, the best six students will be selected, who, under the guidance of chief agronomists with many years of experience, will undergo industrial practice as nominal scholarships and gain valuable experience in field conditions. From the moment of entering the internship, Irrico will pay students a personal scholarship, as well as provide comfortable living conditions, three meals a day and overalls. The most distinguished trainees will receive employment opportunities in the company.
