“Lesson of Courage” dedicated to the Defender of the Motherland Day

The Council of Veterans of the Primary Public Organization of War Veterans, Home Front Workers, War Children and Labor Veterans of SSAU jointly with the Council of Veterans of the Leninsky District of Stavropol held a “Lesson of Courage” for students dedicated to the Defender of the Motherland Day. Veterans were invited to the event, who told young people firsthand about patriotism, heroism and love for the Motherland.

The initiator of the Lesson of Courage was Nikolai Gavrilovich Guzinin, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of SSAU, senior lieutenant in reserve, associate professor of the Department of Philosophy and History of SSAU. In his opening remarks, he noted that Defender of the Motherland Day is not a purely men’s holiday, but a holiday for all those who, regardless of gender and age, are a true patriot of their Motherland, bringing their contribution to its creation and prosperity.

The event was attended by:

- Gennady Nikolaevich Drobyazgo - First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Leninsky District of Stavropol.

- Evgeny Ivanovich Sereda, member of the Presidium of the Council of Veterans of the Leninsky District of Stavropol, lieutenant colonel in reserve, veteran of the Russian Armed Forces.

- Alexander Sergeevich Ponomarenko, Veteran of the Great Patriotic War, member of the Presidium of the Council of Veterans of the Leninsky District of Stavropol, Colonel in reserve.

In his speech, the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Alexander Sergeevich Ponomarenko, spoke in detail about the bright pages of the heroic deed of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.

Veteran of the Armed Forces Evgeny Ivanovich Sereda and senior warrant officer in reserve Gennady Nikolaevich Drobyazgo brightly and interestingly conveyed to the students the deep meaning of serving the Motherland and revealed various episodes of such an important profession as defending the Motherland.

All speakers, addressing the students, noted that being a defender of the Motherland means studying well in order to be a professional in your field in the future. A single wish was expressed to the young men - not to avoid serving in the Russian army and thereby fulfill their civil and male duty to the Motherland.

The organization of the event was actively involved: Deputy Dean for educational work of the FAF, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Accounting Viktoria Samvelovna Germanova and Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking Tamara Vasilievna Skrebtsova.

The guests and students present were given creative gifts from creative teams of SSAU. 1^st year student of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources Maria Orekhova read poetry. Vocal studio “Provence performed two heartfelt songs addressed to the defenders of the Motherland.

The girls presented flowers and gifts to the guests, and the Chairman of the Council of Veterans of SSAU Nikolai Gavrilovich Guzinin presented greeting cards on behalf of the rector of SSAU, Professor Ivan Vyacheslavovich Atanov.
