Accepting applications for the competition "BayStudy-2021" was began

On February 1, the call for applications for participation in the BayStudy competition for students, undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers of agricultural universities in Russia and Kazakhstan, which has been implemented by Bayer for 11 years, has been announced.

Scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University and Bayer are linked by long-term partnership for several years.

“Bayer's contribution to the development of education is really great. After all, the interaction of the company and the university guarantees a reliable future for agriculture. The opening of the Bayer auditorium at the Stavropol State Agrarian University is a landmark event for the entire agro-industrial complex of Stavropol. Only by the consolidation of business, science and the state can one achieve great heights in any direction, and even more so in agriculture, ”says the rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor Ivan Vyacheslavovich Atanov.

The new IT-classroom, designed by the company in close cooperation with the Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Professor Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko, makes it possible to expand the possibility of using information and communication technologies, both in the educational process and in scientific work. The computer class is equipped with modern software and access to the electronic library, direct Internet access, where the teacher can work with various information resources online. It conducts classes in a number of disciplines, where students acquire new competencies in the field of plant protection using modern IT technologies and are competitive in the labor market.

Every year, leading scientists from the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture conduct joint research to assess the effectiveness of developed and updated chemical formulas of drugs, as well as to study new hybrids from Bayer, which cover an increasingly wide range of innovative research in the field of plant protection.

The BayStudy competition program is an important stage in the development of specialists, which further helps students to realize their knowledge in science with financial motivation. Since 2010, more than 50 students and postgraduates of our university took part in the competition, 9 of them became winners. Young scientists preserve and enhance the traditions of participation in the competition. And now the winner of 2015, now Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Plant Protection Lyudmila Alekseevna Mikhno, in 2018 led her student, a 1-year master of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources Yulia Echevskaya, to the victory, with the current development of measures to combat cotton scoop in corn crops. And in 2020, the winner of the BayStudy competition was Arina Kotova, a 2nd year master's student with a development in the field of fertilizer application in no-till technology.

For several years in a row, Bayer has been implementing a program to reward the most active participants in the BayStudy competition in the form of opening computer labs at universities with the training of agronomic specialists.

To try your hand at the "BayStudy - 2021" competition, and possibly interest the specialists of the international company Bayer with your skills, you need to choose a topic of scientific and practical work from the proposed list, submit an application and send your work to the organizers of the competition by June 30th.
