The results of the XII International Student Scientific Conference "Student Scientific Forum 2020"

The research work of students maximally develops creative thinking, individual abilities, research skills of students, allows for the preparation of initiative specialists, development scientific intuition, depth of thinking, a creative approach to the perception of knowledge and practical application for solving organizational, technical, applied problems and scientific problems, and also fosters students' ability to work in a team. An important form of organizing research work is the participation of students in scientific and practical competitions, conferences.

In order to increase the volume and expand the scope of educational and research, research and innovative activities of students, the Academy of Natural Sciences annually holds International student conferences in various areas, in which students of the Stavropol State Agrarian University are also active participants.

Students of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources studying in the direction of training "Agronomy", profile - "Plant Protection", took part in the XII International Student Scientific Conference "Student Scientific Forum 2020".

In the direction of agricultural sciences, a section "Plant quarantine" was organized – the chairman is Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Lyudmila Vasilievna Tuturzhans.

To participate in the scientific conference, students prepared articles on the prevalence, harmfulness, features of the manifestation of quarantine pests included in the List of quarantine objects that are absent on the territory of the Russian Federation and restrictedly distributed in the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as those included in the Unified List of Quarantine Objects of the Eurasian Economic Union.

According to the results of the forum, students were awarded the II degree Winner Diploma for the best student scientific work:

Alexey Gaidamakin – “Artemisia ragweed – a dangerous quarantine plant”;

Andrey Moisa – "The most dangerous pest of corn – Diabrotica virgifera";

Yulia Ovcharenko – "Indian wheat smut".
