Round table "Application of modern irrigation methods"

Scientific meeting in the format of "round table" of students of the fourth year of "Agronomy" direction with specialists-agronomists in the field of irrigation. The guests of the meeting were: agronomist of the production irrigated plot of agricultural enterprise "Urozhaynoye" of Novoalexandrovsky district Chernov N.I. and agronomist of the farm " Private enterprise Cherkashin" of Izobilnensky district Cherkashin S.N.

The meeting was held in the innovative "Center of complex melioration".

The topic of the open class "Application of modern methods of irrigation" is very relevant, since in the current modern economic conditions the main objectives of irrigated agriculture are not taken into account: obtaining the highest amount of products and preservation of soil fertility. Therefore, the development of economic methods, new technologies, including low-cost irrigation methods and water-saving irrigation regimes is of important strategic and economic importance.

The meeting was opened by Ludmila Trubacheva, Associate Professor of the Department of General Farming, Crop Production, Breeding and Seed Production named after Prof. F.I. Bobryshev, with her report on "Water-saving technologies of crop production. Strategy and economy".

During the discussion the participants of the meeting exchanged their opinions on the role of land reclamation, differentiated methods of irrigation. Specialists answered the students' questions on irrigation methods and on production in general. During the dispute it was concluded that nowadays the issues of water resources rational use are a vital problem for mankind and new approaches to their use and management in agricultural sector are needed.
