Science - practice - business: fruitful cooperation between SSAU and Expert Systems

Teachers from the Faculty of Economics received training from ExpertSystems, a leader in domestic software development in the field of business consulting. The training took place at the Centre for Advanced Professional Training as part of the mastery of three software products in a distance learning format.

Studying the practical application of Project Expert, a well-known financial and analytical system on the Russian market, for developing business plans and evaluating investment projects was the agenda of the first days of classes. Teachers from the Economics Faculty "practised" in creating an optimal business development plan and "lived through" various investment decision-making scenarios in real time, without losing financial resources.

Practical mastery of the AuditExpert and Prime Expert analytical systems was the final part of the course. Prime Expert tool for more "advanced" users proved its efficiency in terms of process-oriented enterprise management, investment program development, building financial models of business operating efficiency based on value chain.

The experts-developers of Expert Systems consulting company together with the faculty of economics have outlined further practical application of acquired skills in working with the presented line of software products. It is planned to introduce analytical systems of such level in the educational process for both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as joint development of additional training courses.

Of particular interest is the use of these software products in the area of implementation of commercial business consulting services by faculty members. For example, the Department of Entrepreneurship and World Economy has many years of practical experience in using Project Expert software to make business plans and calculate financial models of organizations. Besides, Prime Expert software product, was successfully tested in the course of applied scientific developments in the field of economic substantiation of process-oriented model of activity of an agricultural organization.

The results of the training of the teachers of the Faculty of Economics will have a direct impact on the development of research areas, the optimisation of the learning process and the promotion of business consultancy
