Student seminar on the functioning of agri-food markets and the prospects for their development in Russia

At the Faculty of Economics, a seminar was organised for students in the field of trade and commerce on the functioning of agri-food markets and the prospects for their development in Russia.

The moderator of the problem seminar was Angelina Kazarova, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of Economic Theory, Marketing and Agroeconomics. Assistant professors of the department Elena Kosinova, Angelika Aydinova were invited as guests.

Relevance of the theme of the seminar is conditioned by the fact that functioning of agrifood markets satisfies numerous needs of the population, agricultural commodity producers and thereby influences on the food security of the country.

Students of the Faculty of Economics investigated the leading sectors of the agrarian sphere: analyzed the current state of the markets of agro-food products, identified problems of market conditions formation and peculiarities of price setting.
