The conference "The Great Women of Stavropol Territory"

The Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted a conference entitled "The Great Women of Stavropol Region". The event was organised by the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, whose students prepared unique reports on the outstanding women of Stavropol Region.

Students from two faculties gave speeches. They spoke about the lives of the great women of our small motherland.

The speakers mentioned such personalities among the outstanding representatives of the fair sex:

- Magdalina Pokrovskaya, a Soviet bacteriologist, a Doctor of Medicine, an honored worker of science of the RSFSR. She was the first to create and test a live vaccine against plague. Report by Anton Degtyarev, a student of economics;

- Elena Berezhnaya, Russian figure skater in pairs skating. Report by Yana Yarkova, a student of economics;

- Raisa Gorbacheva, Soviet and Russian social activist, wife of Mikhail Gorbachev, General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee and President of the USSR. Report by Artem Degtyarev, an economics student;

- Yevdokia Bershanskaya, legendary Soviet pilot. Report Anton Ermoshkin, a student of Economics;

- Rimma Ivanova - nurse of mercy, participant in World War I, the only woman in the Russian Empire, awarded with the Military Order of Saint George 4th Class. Report by Zhanna Balandina, a student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering;

- Yevdokiya Royenko, adjutant of the 2nd Rifle Battalion, 37th Guards Rifle Regiment, 12th Guards Rifle Division, 9th Guards Rifle Corps, 61st Army, Western Front. A report by Yekaterina Bardakova, a student of electrical engineering;

- Matrena Nazdracheva, medical instructor of a sanitary company of 100th Guards Rifle Regiment of 35th Guards Rifle Division, one of four women full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory. Report by Salikh Makitryuk, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

- Klavdiya Vilor-Pokrovskaya - participant of the Great Patriotic War. Report by Yaroslav Kruchevsky, student of the electric power faculty.

Students also prepared creative numbers. All participants and organisers were awarded diplomas.
