Fur Farm "Lesnye Klyuchi" is a strategic partner of the Faculty of Biotechnology. Students studying in the areas of "Aimal Husbandry" and "Production and Processing Technology of Agricultural Products" regularly visit the enterprise in order to study advanced technologies in animal husbandry and primary processing of fur raw materials.
Associate Professor of Private Animal Science and Breeding Department Alexander A. Khodusov and the 4th year student Radmir Salpagarov visited the enterprise. During the qualification work, they discussed differences in the technology of primary processing of mink skins according to the Scandinavian and Eastern European technology.
Various types of mink skins were also studied: untreated, tanned, tinted, painted, different colors: Scanblack, Pastel dark (walnut), Silver-blue, Sapphire, Brown, Palomino, Pearl, Regal, Hedlund. Special attention was paid to the types of skin defects and their impact on the cost of production of fur raw materials.
Fur Farm "Lesnye Klyuchi" is a unique farm in the South of Russia for the breeding of minks, in which over the past 10 years, students of our faculty have the opportunity to acquire skills in the cultivation of minks and the primary processing of fur raw materials.
