All-Russian competition of scientific and technological projects "Big Challenges"

The Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted the final stage of the Regional Track of the All-Russian competition of scientific and technological projects "Big Challenges".

“Big Challenges” is a large-scale competition for schoolchildren and students who are engaged in scientific, research, design, inventive and creative activities. Participants need to come up with, create and present an up-to-date development in one of the areas directly related to the Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.

Over the course of several months, more than 700 children, moving from stage to stage, presented their projects in seven directions to the expert commission for judgment:

1. Agro-industrial and biotechnology;

2. Modern energy;

3. Smart city;

4. Genetics, personalized and predictive medicine;

5. New materials;

6. Nanotechnology;

7. Cognitive research.

72 people made it to the finals, who defended their projects before the expert commission at the Center for Advanced Professional Training.

All project participants were welcomed by:

• Yuri Alekseevich Skvortsov - Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Stavropol Territory,

• Diana Gitinomagomedovna Rudyeva - Deputy Minister of Education of the Stavropol Territory,

• Ivan Vyacheslavovich Atanov - Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor,

• Olga Anatolyevna Tomilina - acting Director of the Center for Talanted Children "Search".

Before defending their projects, the participants of the competition got acquainted with the territory of the Stavropol State Agrarian University and took part in master classes from leading scientists of the university on the following topics:

• "Composite technology",

• "Casting into earthen molds",

• "Electrical installation of equipment and systems of a modern house",

• "Non-traditional energy and their control systems",

• "Peculiarities of plant cell permeability",

• “Preparation of soft drinks”.

The preparation and holding of the competition on the territory of the Stavropol Territory was carried out by the Center for Talanted Children "Poisk" with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Stavropol Territory.
