Public Conversation "Learning for the Future: Accountant of the 21st Century"

The lecturers of the Department of Financial Accounting organized the Public Report “Learning for the Future: Accountant of the 21st Century”. The event was attended by students of the Accounting and Finance Faculty, and it was prepared and conducted by the 4th year students of the profile "Accounting, Analysis and Audit". They told what education at the university gave them, what competencies, knowledge and skills they received and how they see themselves in the future in the profession.

Opening the meeting, the head of the department, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Natalya Valentinovna Kulish, stressed that the Stavropol State Agrarian University has been training accountants since 1961. Automatization of all accounting requirements requires new knowledge, improvement, advanced training. New technologies have relieved accountants from a lot of routine work. However, operators cannot replace specialists who are engaged in the preparation of tax and accounting reports, tools for managing and managing an entity. Indeed, this requires strategic decisions that affect the development of entrepreneurial activity in general.

This event was timed to coincide with the completion of the accounting practice "Drawing up an annual report (SRS)". The team of Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Victoria Samvelovna Germanova prepared projects for the formation of accounting support for individual objects of accounting supervision:

• Lolita Nechaeva - “Cash accounting”;

• Yulia Basova - “Accounting of settlement transactions”;

• Svetlana Yarovaya - "Accounting for Payments with Personnel";

• Svetlana Kvochkina - "Accounting for calculations of taxes and fees".

The team of Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Olga Yegorovna Sytnik, consisting of Angelina Kuznetsova, Anna Ayrapetyan and Christina Ayrapetyan, noted the importance of the accounting disciplines studied, emphasized the importance of the accountant's ability to quickly adapt to changing economic conditions, expand knowledge in their fields (law, taxes, finance ). An accountant in the realities of the modern economy is far from being a “clerk”, but a specialist with deep systems thinking, constantly honing his skills and improving his professional level.

Olga Yegorovna Sytnik summed up the event. Her speech “The Changing World of an Accountant”. The digitalization of the economy leaves an imprint on the work of an accountant, but graduates of our profile who are able to analyze the financial and economic activities of an organization will always be in demand.

Such events are performed by a platform that is formed, both the leadership qualities of the participants and their ability to work in a team, are honed with professional services, the horizons are broadened, and a love for the profession is instilled.
