On the eve of the Day of the Worker of Culture in the city of Stavropol, a competition is being held for the "Recognition" prize in the field of culture. The prize is awarded for a creative project created, implemented and received public recognition in the field of librarianship, museum, cultural and leisure activities, art education, audio and visual, music, theater, visual arts, preservation of cultural heritage, development of national cultures, applied artistic creativity in the results of 2020.
The competition received 21 applications. The project of the volunteer team "Volunteer" "What are the clouds like?" is aimed at the rehabilitation of blind and visually impaired children by creating tactile books.
A tactile book is a book made of fabric with voluminous hand-made elements, drawings, appliqués, sewn or nested soft toys made of various materials that are as close to the original as possible to the touch.
The organizers of the project are the activists of the volunteer unit "Volunteer" of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, who conduct classes on the production of tactile books. All subjects of the books and their content are coordinated with the specialists of the library for the blind and visually impaired. V. The project gives the opportunity to provide books in free access to those who need it, while acquainting students and students of educational institutions in Stavropol with an easy way to help others through work with their own hands.
