On the basis of the museum and exhibition complex “My country. My history“ of the city of Stavropol, a roundtable was held on the topic: “The peasantry in the history of Russia in the 19th - early 20th centuries: national tendencies and regional features”, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the abolition of serfdom in Russia.
During the scientific and practical seminar, such topical issues as the peasant world of the 19th - early 20th centuries were discussed; peasantry of the North Caucasus in the 19th - early 20th centuries; serfdom as a system of social relations in Russia, as well as the prerequisites and significance of its abolition; the influence of the Great bourgeois reforms of Alexander II on the socio-economic and political development of the Russian Empire.
The staff of the Department of Philosophy and History, as well as university students, took an active part in the round table.
