I Regional Championship of Financial Literacy among schoolchildren

In order to popularize financially literate behavior among children and youth. The I Regional Championship in Financial Literacy among schoolchildren has started. The goal of the championship is to attract students to systematic classes in financial literacy, to provide access to relevant knowledge that helps to reasonably relate to a personal budget, and form a habit of financial healthy lifestyle.

-In total, more than 58 school teams from 25 regions participating in the championship participate in the Championship competitions: Kochubeevsky, Apanasenkovsky, Arzgirsky, Grachevsky, Andropovsky, Aleksandrovsky, Krasnogvardeisky, Kursk, Budennovsky, Trunovsky and Shpakovsky municipal districts, Izobilnensky, Blagodnensky, Geogeralovsky , Kirovsky, Novoaleskandrovsky, Petrovsky and Sovetsky urban districts, Nevinnomyssk, Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, Stavropol and Zheleznovodsk.

The organizer of the championship in the region is the State Budgetary Institution of Continuing Professional Education "Stavropol Regional Institute for Advanced Studies, Advanced Training and Retraining of Educators". The championship is held in 3 stages (school, municipal and regional).

The competent jury was Professor, Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova, Coordinator of work on the implementation of the Financial Literacy Program in the Stavropol Territory Nadezhda Ivanovna Gerasimenko, Leading Economist of the Payment Systems Department and Calculations Vitaly Viktorovich Koshelev and Director of LLC FINAM-STAVROPOL Lyubov Mikhailovna Butaliy.

Within the framework of the All-Russian Championship in Financial Literacy, two types of competitions were held: tournaments in communicative "battles" (communicative tournament) and tournaments in financial "battles" (financial tournament).

In the course of financial "battles", team members solved problems and cases on financial literacy, which allowed them to master and improve knowledge and skills of competent financial behavior. And in communicative "battles", team members solved problematic issues related to the role of money and other financial instruments in the life of a modern person, which allowed them to build a personal position of competent financial behavior.
