Master class on pruning fruit trees from representatives of the most modern fruit growing enterprise in Stavropol Territory

On the territory of the garden of the experimental station of Stavropol State Agrarian University for students of the direction of training "Agronomy" there was held a master class on pruning fruit trees by representatives of LLC "A.K. Gardens of Stavropol ".

The master class was conducted by the chief agronomist Olga Alekseevna Matushkina and the foreman of the gardening department Vladimir Viktorovich Sivakov.

A training seminar for students was organized at the initiative of the dean of the faculties of agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture, doctor of agricultural sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko and Associate Professor of the Department of Production and Processing of Food Products from Vegetable Raw Materials, candidate of agricultural sciences Timur Soltanovich Aisanov.

Having greeted the specialists of the economy and students, Alexander Nikolaevich noted the high value of the use of practice-oriented methods of training students, which are widely used at our faculties. This is facilitated by the powerful material and technical base of the educational and experimental farm, created with the support of the university leadership and with the active work of the dean of faculties Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko.

During the master class, Olga Alekseevna and Vladimir Viktorovich demonstrated to the students the methods of forming the main types of tree crowns both in intensive trellis gardens and in gardens with no support structures. The students were happy to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the seminar and, under the supervision of invited specialists, carried out the spring pruning of both orchards cultivated at the experimental station of the university.
