Implementation of the Master Degree Program in training in management for the Ministry of Agriculture “Global Agrarian Markets”

The project of the Master’s Program “Global Agrarian Markets” is being implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO). Educational modules are also held at Stavropol State Agrarian University. Students will acquire practical skills at agricultural enterprises of the Stavropol Territory. The training program in our region is designed for 6 days.

During the week, students will be trained at Stavropol State Agrarian University in areas that reveal the features of agricultural production.

The round table “State and prospects of export development of the agro-industrial complex in the region” became a kind of official start of the educational module. Full-time listeners were greeted by:

“For the third year in a row, we have been meeting MGIMO students, listeners in various programs. For us, the big part is that the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has chosen us as a training base for the Master’s Program “Global Agrarian Markets”. We are the flagship of the national agrarian education and we will be happy to share our experience and knowledge!”- said the rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor Ivan Vyacheslavovich Atanov.

“I would like to note that our educational module is very interesting and rich. And I am sure that it will be very productive and useful for our students,” commented Natalya Vladimirovna Cherner, head of the Master’s Program “Global Agrarian Markets”at MGIMO of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The first school day began with a lesson “Phytosanitary and Veterinary Control”, which was conducted by Anna Petrovna Shutko, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Plant Protection.

Then the listeners got acquainted with the direction “International and national statistics in the agricultural sector”, teacher: Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Economic Security, Statistics and Econometrics, Professor Alexey Nikolaevich Gerasimov.

During the week, listeners are expected to have interesting theoretical classes, as well as travel to the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Stavropol. Undergraduates will learn from the experience of leading agricultural enterprises, such as: LLC Pyatigorsk Dairy Plant, Agrofirm Selo named after Kaishev, LLC AIE “Luch”, LLC AIE “Ecoculture”, JSC “Dairy plant Stavropol”, “Grain quality assessment center”.

At the end of the module, projects will be defended to promote Russian agricultural products to world markets (regional aspects).

On December 20, 2018, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and MGIMO on the creation and development of the base department “International agricultural markets and foreign economic activity in the agro-industrial complex”. The tasks of the department include training high-level specialists who are able to effectively represent the interests of Russia on the world markets of agricultural products. To this end, the department opened three directions at once: the program of professional retraining “Attache for Agriculture”, the MBA program “Global Agrarian Markets and Foreign Economic Activity of Agro-Industrial Complex Companies”, as well as the first Master’s Program in Russia in training personnel in the field of management for the Ministry agriculture “Global agricultural markets”.
