29.04.2021

The opening of a significant historical and documentary exhibition "Without a statute of limitations: the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices against the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories of the USSR in 1941-1945" took place in the Stavropol GAU. The exhibition was created to preserve the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War in the memory of the people and became one of the key events of the Year of Memory and Glory. Such exhibitions are open in 22 regions of our country.

In the Stavropol Territory, the exhibition was created on the basis of materials provided by the State Archives of the Stavropol Territory, the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents, the Museum of the Stavropol Regional Clinical Specialized Psychiatric Hospital No. 1.

The exhibition was opened by honorary guests:

· Chief Archaeologist of the Publication Department documents of the State Archives of the Stavropol Territory Matyunkina Lyudmila Olegovna;

· Head of the Department of Philosophy and History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Evgeny Vasilievich Tufanov;

· Specialist of the Department for Educational Work and Social Issues Avakyan Yana Sergeevna. The first visitors to the exhibition were students and teachers of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance and the Faculty of Ecology and Landscape Architecture.

For more than five months, from August 1942 to January 1943, an occupation regime existed in the Stavropol Territory. The German fascist invaders tried to establish a “new order” in the occupied territory.

The criminal actions of the occupiers in Stavropol, Georgievsk, Kislovodsk, Yessentuki, Mineralnye Vody, Zheleznovodsk and Teberda are evidenced by acts of commissions, statements of victims, testimonies of witnesses, conclusions of medical experts, documentary materials.

The consequences of the enemy occupation and hostilities for the Stavropol Territory were heavy. More than 31 thousand civilians perished in the region, among them at least 24 thousand Jews evacuated to the region.

Today, on the eve of the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, it is necessary to keep those tragic events in memory forever who have changed the lives of millions of people.

You can visit the exhibition until May 21, 2021.
