Memorial meeting dedicated to the Great Victory Day

Traditionally, on the eve of the Great Victory Day, a memorial meeting is held in the courtyard of the Stavropol State Agrarian University. This year, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers have become guests of honor.

All those present were greeted by the rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor Ivan Vyacheslavovich Atanov. In his speech, he noted that SSAU students remember and honor the feat of the Soviet people, and continue the glorious traditions of patriotic education of youth.

At the memorial meeting,a real gift was a speech of the People's Artist of the RSFSR, full holder of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland Lev Valerianovich Leshchenko. In addition to warm words of gratitude to the veterans, the artist sang the famous song to the poems of Rasul Gamzatov "Cranes".

At the memorial meeting, in a solemn atmosphere, the Minister of Culture of the Stavropol Territory Tatyana Ivanovna Likhacheva, on behalf of the governor, presented the rector of SSAU Ivan Vyacheslavovich Atanov with a letter of gratitude from the directorate of the All-Russian patriotic festival-competition "Soldier's envelope". For 4 days, the Stavropol GAU was a platform for rehearsals, master classes and meetings of the finalists of the festival. The organization of the competition was assessed at the highest level.

State Duma Deputy Alexey Fedorovich Lavrinenko also addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. By tradition, flowers were laid at the monument to the staff, students and teachers of the Stavropol Agricultural Institute who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, and the memory of the fallen was honored with a minute of silence.
