Formation of promising areas for genetic improvement of beef cattle of Stavropol Territory

Scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University together with specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory took part in the discussion of the subprogram "Improvement of genetic potential of beef cattle" of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for Agricultural Development in 2017 - 2025, which was held during the VCS under the guidance of the Department of Livestock and Pedigree Affairs of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

Under the guidance of Galina Fatyhovna Safina, the deputy director of Department of animal husbandry and pedigree business of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, and also with attraction of Directorate of FSTP of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the preliminary discussion of participation of separate regions of the Russian Federation in performance of measures of subprogram "Improvement of genetic potential of cattle of beef breeds" of the Federal scientific and technical program of agriculture development for 2017 - 2025 years passed.

The meeting was attended by representatives of regional ministries of agriculture: Astrakhan, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kurgan, Rostov, Samara, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk regions, the Chuvash Republic, as well as APH "Miratorg".

From the side of Stavropol Territory the meeting was attended by: Alexey Valkntinovich Krisan, Deputy Minister, Dmitry Nikolaevich Volny, Director of SC Breeding Center, Sergey Aleksandrovich Oleynik, Professor of Stavropol State Agrarian University, specialists of FGBNU VNIIok-North Caucasus FNAC.

Together with the Stavropol GAU, tentatively confirmed their participation in the federal research program 4 breeding farms on beef cattle breeding:

- Lenin collective farm of Apanasenkovsky district of Stavropol Territory, SAA (collective farm) "Rodina" of Apanasenkovsky district of Stavropol Territory,

- Agricultural production cooperative "Plemzavod Vtoraya Pyatiletka" of the Ipatovsky district of Stavropol Territory,

- Agricultural production cooperative "Druzhba" of Apanasenkovsky district of Stavropol Krai.

Implementation of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for Agricultural Development in 2017 - 2025 will contribute to the implementation of the objectives of the Food Security Doctrine of the Russian Federation, increasing the efficiency of beef cattle breeding, closer cooperation between scientists and practitioners of the Biotechnology Department and cattle farmers of the region, increasing the effectiveness of the educational process in the agricultural sector.
