Athletics victories for students at Stavropol State Agrarian University

A track and field competition was held in Stavropol over the festive period. The Stavropol State Agrarian University was represented by strong athletes who took honourable places on the podium.

The traditional track and field relay race for the Stavropolskaya Pravda newspaper cup was held on Lenin Square in honour of the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. For the first time leading track and field athletes of the region took part in the relay race "Stavropolsky" in the first after-war year of 1946. And since then during 75 years the competitions bring together runners of different ages.

This year the awards were drawn in several categories. There were 33 teams at the start. Stavropol State Agrarian University was represented by 2 teams of boys and girls by 10 people. Athletes took an honourable II place.

Then 15 members of the Agrarian University track and field athletics team took part in the Cup of the Ministry of Physical Education and Sports of Stavropol Region among higher education institutions.

Students of St. Petersburg State Agrarian University won prizes:

- 1 place running on 800 meters at boys - Blinov Dmitry (faculty of accounting and financial 2nd course)

- 2nd place - run for 800 m, ovs junior - Khachaturyan Artur (4th course, Faculty of Mechanization of Agriculture),

- 1st place - Diana Sheshkil (Faculty of Mechanization of Agriculture, 3rd course),

- 3rd place - women's 800 metres run - Polina Semikina (1st course, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine),

- 3rd place in 400 metres race among boys - Dmitriy Blinov (Faculty of Accounting and Finance, 2nd course),

- 3rd place in long jump - Valery Ilyichev (Faculty of Mechanization of Agriculture, 4th year).

Both girls and boys came second in the 4x100m relay. As a result, the team placed second.
