Collegium of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory “On the preparation and harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in 2021”

In the village of Padinskoe, Novoselytsky District, under the leadership of Acting Head of the regional agrarian department Vladimir Nikolaevich Sitnikov, the board of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory “On the preparation and harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in 2021” was held.

The meeting was attended by heads of agricultural enterprises, specialists of agricultural enterprises of the region, heads of peasant farms. Stavropol State Agrarian University was represented by Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Ecology and Landscape Architecture Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko and Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Alexander Viktorovich Loshakov.

Before the start of the event, the members of the board made a detour of the fields in the experimental production farm “Luch” and examined the state of the crops. After that, Vladimir Nikolaevich addressed the audience with an opening speech. In his address, acting Minister of Agriculture spoke about preparations for harvesting grain and leguminous crops, the implementation of related work and ensuring safety during their implementation in 2021.

Agricultural enterprises, in turn, reported on the availability of agricultural transport and the provision of enterprises with petroleum products.

The first deputy head of the agrarian department Vyacheslav Viktorovich Dridiger reported on the state of grain crops in the region for 2021 and mentioned that the expected production in the region will be 8 million tons. Of these, winter wheat - 5.7 million tons. The area under crops of grain and leguminous crops in the territory of the region will be distributed in the following structure: winter wheat - 1.8 million hectares; winter barley - 206 thousand hectares; spring crops - 274 thousand hectares, including legumes - 180 thousand hectares; winter rapeseed - 28 thousand hectares.

Andrey Oleinikov, the head of the branch of the Russian Agricultural Center in the region, reported on the work with diseases and pests, made recommendations on the processing of fields and desiccation of crops.

The issues related to the safety of the harvesting campaign, which were highlighted by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the region and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in the region, did not remain on the side either. They focused the attention of agricultural producers and curators from the districts on the necessary preventive measures related to the safety of the harvesting campaign.

In his closing remarks, the head of the agrarian department of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Nikolaevich Sitnikov, said that the mood for a good harvest is present everywhere, the readiness of equipment and people is one hundred percent, so he is confident that experienced Stavropol farmers will carry out the harvest in 2021 at a decent level.

In addition, the collegium paid a lot of attention to the issues of grain export and forecasts of pricing for wheat, as well as the accompanying harvesting climatic conditions.
