Webinar “Main directions of financial market development in the Russian Federation for 2022 and the period of 2023 and 2024” of the Central Bank of Russia

The event was attended by more than 550 participants, including representatives of the Department of Strategic Development of the Financial Market of the Bank of Russia and the Southern HQ of the Bank of Russia, representatives of the financial market, the real sector, the expert community, universities in the regions of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District.

Stavropol SAU was presented by the head of the Financial Management and Banking Department, Doctor of Economics, Professor Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova.

The speakers were acting Head of the Southern Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia Valentin Viktorovich Tyumentsov; Deputy Head of the South Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia Alexander Sergeevich Gostev, Head of the Economic Department of the Southern Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia Pyotr Andreevich Voronin and Director of the Department of Strategic Development of the Financial Market Mikhail Anatolyevich Kovrigin.

After the presentation, the speakers exchanged views, responded to the proposals and comments of the participants to the project. For example, Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova asked about the implementation of a pilot project to improve financial inclusion in rural areas and hard-to-reach settlements and inquired about the results in the past and current years, and plans for the coming years.

During the discussion, the organizers revealed the main goals, principles, policy directions for the development of the financial market, as well as key tasks that the Bank of Russia will solve together with the Government of the Russian Federation to create favorable conditions for market forces that determine the development of the financial market.

Based on the results of public discussions, which will take place until September 1, the draft Guidelines for the Development of the Financial Market will be submitted to the President of the Russian Federation and the Government, and then, after revision, will be submitted to the State Duma for consideration. Under the new rules, the regulator will prepare such a document annually for a three-year horizon. This will make it possible to promptly adjust the previously outlined plans and take into account the dynamic changes that are taking place in the financial market.
