Regional conference "Practices of increasing the financial literacy of the population as an element of the implementation of the National Strategy"

Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted a regional conference "Practices of increasing the financial literacy of the population as an element of the implementation of the National Strategy", organized within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Finance of Russia "Assistance in increasing the level of financial literacy and the development of financial education in the Russian Federation."

The regional conference was held in a combined format (online / offline) with the involvement of experts from the Directorate of Financial Literacy of the NFI of the Ministry of Finance of Russia. The event was moderated by the Dean of the Accounting and Finance Faculty, Doctor of Economics, Professor Elena Ivanovna Kostyukova.

Acting Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Alexander Vladimirovich Trukhachev addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that SSAU, along with the main educational and scientific activities, is actively working on financial education and improving the financial literacy of the population of the Stavropol Territory. Today, increasing the level of financial literacy of young people is one of the urgent tasks of the Agrarian University.

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Stavropol Territory - Minister of Finance of the Stavropol Territory Larisa Anatolyevna Kalinchenko noted the importance of the continuity of the process of advanced training of students, the introduction of new methods of working with students, the interregional exchange of pedagogical practices, and also spoke about the current implementation of the regional program and prospects.

Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, Doctor of Economics, Professor Yulia Mikhailovna Sklyarova spoke about the competence of an innovative student of the 21st century, which combines financial, functional and digital literacy.

Anna Vladimirovna Gorelik, Deputy Head of the Directorate of the Center for Financial Literacy of the NFI of the Ministry of Finance of Russia, spoke about the key tasks and challenges of implementing the second stage of the Strategy for increasing the financial literacy of the population in the Russian Federation.

Elena Aleksandrovna Kuzmina, an expert of the Directorate of the Financial Literacy Center of the NFI of the Ministry of Finance of Russia, shared the key tasks and challenges of implementing the second stage of the Strategy for increasing the financial literacy of the population in the Russian Federation - digital transformation and development of educational practices.

The first vice-rector of SKIRO PC and PRO, Elena Vladimirovna Evmenenko, noted the importance of the continuity of financial education for the formation of financial culture in society.

Elena Nikolaevna Lapina, Head of the APE Online Education Center, Stavropol State Agrarian University, made a presentation on the “financial literacy” competence in the vocational education system, ways of building competence, teaching and teachers of financial literacy.

The two-day conference was held in the format of round tables with teachers from colleges and universities in Stavropol. During the discussions, the participants discussed new educational methods, ways to combat financial fraud and other issues.
