06.10.2021

Stavropol State Agrarian University is among 18 Russian universities that will receive a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia. The university developed a strategic program, focusing on the track "Territorial and (or) technological leadership".

Additional funds will be directed to the implementation of the strategic development program "Agroinnopolis-2030", the purpose of which is to increase the prestige of agricultural professions and popularize the rural way of life through training specialists capable of creating and developing high-tech agriculture. The program is based on the implementation of two strategic projects in the HUB format:

- "SmartAgroBioTech" - aimed at introducing sustainable agriculture approaches while preserving environmental conditions and natural resources for future generations;

- "Agrokadry-2030", aimed at providing the Stavropol Territory with a new generation of professionals for the intensive development of high-tech agriculture.

Priority 2030 is the largest program in the history of modern Russia aimed at supporting and developing universities. The goal of the program is to form a wide group of universities that will become leaders in the creation of new scientific knowledge, technologies and developments for implementation in the Russian economy and social sphere.

The selection was carried out at a high level, completely in digital format, and the system for evaluating applicant universities was as transparent as possible, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting of the Presidium of the Program Council. Grant holders elaborated development programs in two areas - "Research Leadership" and "Territorial and Technological Leadership".

Based on the results of two qualifying rounds, Stavropol State Agrarian University became the winner of the federal program "Priority 2030" on the track "Territorial and (or) Technological Leadership" and was included in the list of 18 Russian universities that will receive a grant from the Ministry of Science and Education of Russia.
