Opening of the IX Stavropol Krai Basketball Championship

In the sports complex of Stavropol State Agrarian University there was an opening parade of the IX-th Stavropol Region Basketball Championship among men's basketball teams of industrial teams, universities, municipalities and towns for the Cup of the Governor of Stavropol Region in the season 2021-2022.

In total there will be 15 teams (9 - in the division "Stavropol" and 6 - in the division "KVM"). Teams of basketball players will play between themselves in two rounds for 8 months and will play 108 games. At the end of each division the top two teams will go to the "Final Four" and will determine the new winner of the tournament in May 2022.

The guests of honor at the opening parade were:

- The Acting Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor - Alexander Vladimirovich Trukhachev;

- Minister of Physical Education and Sports of Stavropol Krai - Andrey Vladimirovich Tolbatov;

- Head of the Administration of the city of Mikhailovsk - Igor Vladimirovich Serov;

- Rakhim Ruslanovich Chakhkiev - Merited Master of Sports in Boxing, Olympic Champion 2008, silver medallist of the World Championship 2007, European Champion among juniors 2001, Champion of Russia among amateurs 2007, World Champion by IBO 2015, European Champion by EBU in the first heavyweight division 2014;

- The rector of the Church of Dmitry Donskoy in Stavropol - Father Antony (Skrynnikov);

- President of Stavropol Basketball Federation - Dmitry Vladimirovich Lohansky.

The guests of honor presented to the teams "Champion" cakes from the long-time partner of Stavropol Basketball Federation - Stavropolsky Molochny Kombinat. The parade ended with performances of creative groups of StSAU.
