The Ministry of Agriculture of Stavropol Krai hosted a discussion of the second block of the strategic project: animal genomics and biotechnology.
In the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, in accordance with the implementation of the Stavropol State Agrarian University strategic project "SMARTAGROBIOTECH 2030" discussed the prospects for innovative development of the livestock industry in the Stavropol Territory. Professor of the basic department of private zootehnii, breeding and selection of animals S.A. Oleynik explained to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture A.V. Krisanu detail a step by step implementation strategy of the strategic project and its impact on the formation of innovative development path of the livestock industry at the regional level.
According to the program of measures, 10 laboratories will be newly created and reorganized on the basis of biotechnology and veterinary faculties:
- molecular genetic;
- Biochemistry and technology of livestock products processing;
- selective monitoring of milk quality;
- embryonic technologies;
- aerospace monitoring in pasture cattle breeding;
- quality assessment of forages;
- pathology of domestic animals;
- scientific and educational center for the development of professional competencies;
- research and testing laboratory of the Department of Epizootology and Microbiology.
In addition, modernization of the laboratories of the faculties of mechanization of agriculture and electric power industry is envisaged.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Stavropol Krai confirmed a high interest in the implementation of the activities of the strategic project, because the creation of a world-class instrument and laboratory base at the agrarian university creates unique opportunities for the region in introducing modern achievements of genomics and biotechnology in the accelerated development of livestock and high-quality food production for the population of the region.
