Research work of the Stavropol Agrarian University and the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Center

As a part of their research work, the employees of the base Department of General Agriculture, Plant Growing, Selection and Seed Production of the Stavropol Agrarian University – the head of the department O.I. Vlasova, associate professors Donets I.A., Golub A.S., Golosnaya E.L. visited the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Center.

The meeting was attended by the leading employees of the scientific center: Bobryshova Galina Timofeevna – Deputy Director for Research; Head of the Seed Breeding Center Vera Vladimirovna Chumakova; Chief Researcher, Head of the Department of Breeding and Primary Seed Production of Winter Grain Crops Kovtun Viktor Ivanovich; Leading researcher of the Laboratory of Selection and Primary Seed Production of Sorghum Volodin Alexander Borisovich, Head of the Hybridization Department Sokolenko Nina Ivanovna.

Alexander Borisovich Volodin, the Leading Researcher of the Laboratory of Selection and Primary Seed Production of Sorghum, presented the results of his research on the selection of forage crops. Experimental crops and nurseries for the propagation of sorghum, chumiza, sorghum-Sudanese hybrids were examined.

During the meeting, the prospects for further joint cooperation and ways of solving problems in the field of breeding and seed production of grain and forage crops were discussed.
