The Stavropol State Agar University continues the implementation of the Erasmus + project "Improving postgraduate education in the field of sustainable agriculture and agricultural systems of the future" - SAGRIS.
Scientists from five countries are developing a program aimed at improving training in graduate and doctoral studies. Scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University are in charge of the development of Module 3. The project envisages holding seminars, where the program will be adapted, lectures and practical sessions with graduate students and doctoral students will be held.
On November 15, 2021, an introductory meeting was held on the preparation for the Block Seminar of Module 3 "Modern methods of scientific research" of the international project SAGRIS ("Improving postgraduate education in the field of sustainable agriculture and agricultural systems of the future"). The main purpose of the event was to present the program and solve organizational issues.
Meeting participants - universities of Kazakhstan:
- Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after Saken Seifullin
- West Kazakhstan Agrarian Technical University named after Zhangir Khan;
- Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynov;
-Kazakh National Agrarian Research University;
Russian scientists represented the following universities:
- Stavropol State Agrarian University.
- Arctic State Agrotechnological University;
-Buryat State Agricultural Academy named after V.R. Filippov;
-Novosibirsk State Agrarian University.

The first Block-Seminar within the framework of the international project SAGRIS module 3 "Modern Methods of Scientific Research" will be held on December 06-10, 2021 in Stavropol, Russia (for participants from Russia) and in Nur-Sultan (for participants from Kazakhstan). The block-seminar will be held in a hybrid form: full-time participation of graduate students, doctoral students and teachers from Russia and Kazakhstan with the use of distance technologies for the participation of experts from the countries of the European Union is expected.
The meeting was opened by the head of the module, Professor of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland), Dr. Axel Schwerk. He briefly spoke about what Module 3 is about, introduced the development team and wished them fruitful work.
Then the goals and objectives of the project were presented: Project Coordinator, Chairman of the Steering Committee, Dr. Heinrich Schule, and Project Manager Anna Borsuk (University of Nürtingen-Geislingen (Germany)) presented a short presentation of the Project, as well as a summary and results of the activities already carried out. The European partners expressed a wish for postgraduate and doctoral students to be active in their work.
Then the scientific supervisor of Module 3 from the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro-Technical University, Nadezhda Meleshenko, presented the program of the Block Seminar. The program is full of activities that are aimed at team building, improving mutual understanding and teamwork. Lectures, workshops, master classes, round tables are united by the theme of the fourth subtopic of the Module "Modern Methods of Statistics".
Anna Borsuk, project manager, presented the International Forum "Prospects for postgraduate education in agricultural universities in Russia and Kazakhstan on the way to integration into the international scientific community." One of the tasks set for the participants of the Forum is the development of a presentation on the presentation of the main problems and prospects for the development of postgraduate education both by the developers of the program, as well as doctoral and postgraduate students.
The scientific supervisor of Module 3 from the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Yulia Bezgina, said that the Forum program provides for the development of a Strategy for the development of postgraduate education, where the heads of the departments of the universities participating in the project, who are responsible for the work of the postgraduate and doctoral departments, will take an active part. It is assumed that they will also present their vision of the prospects for the development of this direction of education.
During the presentation of the participants of the Block Seminar, graduate students from Russia and doctoral students from Kazakhstan presented self-presentations, where they told in what specialty and topic they conduct research, told about the area of their scientific interests.
A detailed presentation of a group assignment for graduate students in Russia and doctoral students in Kazakhstan on the topic "Statistical research in decision-making (methods, analysis, model)" took place. Introductory information was presented in detail, and it was also indicated that for high-quality and timely implementation it is necessary to prepare for it before the Seminar.
Scientific consultants who participated in the development of the assignments, and then will help young scientists to comprehend the basics of statistics, introduced themselves and made short self-presentations. The task from the Stavropol State Agrarian University was presented by the staff of the Department of Economic Security, Statistics and Econometrics, headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Alexei Nikolaevich Gerasimov.
At the end, the participants asked the moderators organizational questions. The objectives set for the inception meeting have been met.
