The meeting of Archpriest Vladimir Safonov – Director of the Regent School of the Stavropol Theological Seminary, teacher, Rector of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Stavropol with first-year students of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources; Ecology and Landscape Architecture.
The meeting was opened by the Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources; Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko and Head of the Department of Soil Science named after V. I. Tulpanov, Professor Valery Sergeevich Tskhovrebov.
In a conversation with students Father Vladimir touched upon the issues of interaction between science and religion, drew attention to the importance of education in the modern world. Father Vladimir instructed students in the need to study and engage in science. He convincingly proved that there are no contradictions between the scientific outlook and religion, and Orthodoxy has always been on the side of people involved in science and education.
During the discussion students asked many questions on a topic related to spirituality, the interaction of various confessions, the interaction of young people and the older generation. He shared his impressions of our university and said that it is not only necessary, but also pleasant to study here.
At the end of the meeting Father Vladimir answered numerous questions from the students and thanked them for the close and pleasant communication and for the questions to which he answered with pleasure.
