Binary class of students with an expert

The Faculty of Economics held a meeting of students with the head of the strategic development bureau of PJSC "Neptune" Vladimir Vitalievich Merkulov. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize future specialists with the competencies required in the professional activities of economists. The greatest attention was paid to the issues of strategic planning for the development of the enterprise and the region. The students were also interested in the opinion of a specialist about the most promising areas of professional activity, employers' requirements for hiring, opportunities and conditions for career advancement.

Having rich experience in economic work at enterprises of the real sector of the economy and in the executive authorities of the city of Stavropol and the Territory, Vladimir Vitalievich Merkulov emphasized the need to master the basic categories and methods. This knowledge is the basis for their subsequent supplementation with the skills and abilities required for successful professional activity in specific positions.

The students were also keenly interested in the details of the work of the executive authorities with beginning entrepreneurs and the directions of their state support.

The guest was asked to separately dwell on the analytical activities of employees of economic services, digitalization issues. He emphasized that in addition to professional competencies, which many possess, you need to have personal qualities - not to be afraid to master new areas of activity, to constantly improve your qualifications, including using the opportunities of online education, to be able to take responsibility for any assigned task, even if you do it first.

Summing up the results of the meeting, the lecturers noted that the main thing is to have the desire to become an economist and master the basics of the profession at the university. And then everything else will come with experience. The more time a student devotes to professional skills and qualities, the faster and more successful he will be as a competent specialist.
