Open lecture by leading experts of the Stavropol Territory in the field of agriculture

At the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, open lectures were held by the leading experts of the Stavropol Territory in the field of agriculture for 3rd and 4th year students of the "Agronomy" direction.

The event was organized by the Dean of the Faculties of Agrobiology and Land Resources and Ecology and Landscape Architecture, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko and Deputy Dean for Practical Training of Students Alena Yurievna Ozheredova. Leading experts of the agrarian sector of the region acted as lecturers: head of the crop production department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory - Elena Alekseevna Tambovtseva, candidate of agricultural sciences, head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" for the Stavropol Territory - Andrey Yuryevich Oleinikov and chief agronomist of LLC "Razdolnoe" - Evgeny Popov.

In the course of his report, Andrei Yuryevich Oleinikov introduced the students to the activities of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Stavropol Territory. The issues of equipping the laboratories of the center were discussed in detail, the range of services that each department of the organization can provide was listed. The branch supervises 26 regional departments, departments of seed production and plant protection and 4 accredited laboratories.

Elena Alekseevna Tambovtseva made a presentation on the development of fruit growing in the Stavropol Territory. This industry is one of the priority areas for the development of the agro-industrial complex. The area of fruit and berry plantations in the region is 11 thousand hectares. In 2020, 60 thousand tons of this type of product were collected.

The chief agronomist of the farm Evgeny Viktorovich Popov told the students about the development of technologies at Razdolnoye LLC. According to Evgeny Viktorovich, strip-till technology is used on row crops, which occupy 30% of the area of cultivated crops. The specialist spoke about the advantages and disadvantages of the technology, about the purchase of the necessary equipment that is used for processing.

Summing up the results of the meeting, the lecturers noted that the main thing for students is to obtain high-quality knowledge in their field, which, of course, will help them develop in the future in production. The students, in turn, thanked the specialists who spoke before them for the new knowledge and transferred experience.
