The Veterinary Administration of the Stavropol Territory discussed the situation with avian influenza

In strategic cooperation with the Veterinary Administration of the Stavropol Territory and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, joint work is being carried out in several areas, including the prevention of the spread of avian influenza. The meeting reviewed the measures taken by the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation to prevent outbreaks of AIV in the Izobilnensky urban district of the Stavropol Territory.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the North Caucasus Federal District and the leadership of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine represented by the Dean, Professor Valentin Sergeyevich Skripkin. The meeting was relevant in connection with the tense epizootic situation on suspicion of infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza that persists in the Stavropol Territory.

As for avian influenza, in 2021 to the present, 3 foci have been identified in the region, which were promptly eliminated. To prevent the introduction and spread of avian influenza in the territory of the region, measures will also be regularly taken according to the Plan of veterinary preventive and anti-epizootic measures in the field of ensuring epizootic and veterinary and sanitary well-being in the Stavropol Territory.

Together with the administrations of the municipalities of the region, work is being carried out to suppress unauthorized trade, identify places of unauthorized discharges of biological waste, as well as to suppress the concealment of the facts of the disease and the loss of birds by their owners. Measures to prevent the occurrence of animal diseases in the region continue.
