Stavropol State Agrarian University is the leader among agricultural universities in research activities and training of young scientists

The university took 2nd place in the Hirsch index and first place in the i-index. Young candidates and doctors of sciences of SSAU have received 12 grants from the President of the Russian Federation over the past 5 years. This is more than in other agricultural universities in the country.

The results of the research work of the Stavropol State Agrarian University for 2021 and the prospects for the development of innovative activities in 2022 were discussed at a meeting of the academic council of the university chaired by Acting Rector Valentin Sergeevich Skripkin.

At the beginning of the meeting, Valentin Sergeevich presented the Diploma of the laureate of the All-Russian competition "Laboratory of Leadership - 2021: the best university library" to the head of the sector of world information resources of the SSAU scientific library Olga Viktorovna Melnikova.

As noted, the Stavropol State Agrarian University took second place in the ranking of Russian agricultural universities in terms of the Hirsch index and first place in the i-index. In the Scopus database - 929 articles of SSAU, in the Web of Science database - 632 articles. The quality of applications from university staff has improved.

48.6 million rubles were allocated from the regional and federal budgets for scientific research at SSAU in 2021.

Scientists of the Faculty of Economics, together with employees of the Institute of Agrarian Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, became the owners of the RFFR grant (Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research) in the competition for the best projects in the direction of "Economics". The head of the application is Olga Alexandrovna Cherednichenko. The project implementation period is 3 years. In 2021, the team was allocated 1,250,000 rubles for scientific work.

Young scientists of SSAU have received 12 grants from the President of the Russian Federation over the past 5 years. This is the highest indicator among agricultural universities in Russia.

The winners of the annual program "U.M.N.I.K." 4 young scientists of the Agrarian Institute became winners of the Innovation Promotion Fund in the following nominations: "Digital Technologies", "Medicine and Health Saving Technologies", "New Devices and Intelligent Production Technologies", "Biotechnologies". Financing of each project will amount to 500 thousand rubles.

According to the results of the competition for a grant for young scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University in the field of science and innovation, 9 grants of 60 thousand rubles each were awarded.

In 2021, the university held international conferences "Advances in Management, Business and Technology", "AgroTech: "Smart" Innovations in Agriculture for Sustainable Development Based on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and the Internet of Things", "Sustainable Development of the Digital Economy: Global Challenges and Prospects for an Innovative Breakthrough", "Digital Technologies in Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the World Community","New technologies in agriculture and food industry using electrophysical factors and ozone" with indexing of articles in the scientific citation databases Scopus and Web of Science.

University staff received 255 titles of protection: 40 for inventions and utility models; certificates for computer programs - 215 issued by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks.

The Academic Council decided:

- allocate 4 targeted grant places for graduate students with an increased scholarship from the university (in addition to the basic scholarship of a graduate student) in the amount of 10,000 rubles per month, from the funds of the Priority-2030 program, on a competitive basis, to support the most priority scientific areas of research (selection, genetics);

- approve new standards for the effectiveness of scientific activities for 2022;

- to form an acceleration program with the subsequent creation of a scientific infrastructure at the university for the development of innovation and technology transfer (business incubator, coworking center, start-up studio);

- develop a plan for applying for RSF grants in 2022. The topics of projects should cover strategic projects under the Priority program;

- by March 28, 2022, hold academic councils of faculties to intensify research activities with the invitation of the vice-rector for scientific and innovative work.
